Blood from the Mummy's Tomb (1971) Version B -Color with lines by me and Digital Paints by the very talented and super cool
Another fun page from the "MONSTERS MAIDENS & MAYHEM" convention sketchbook I'm doing up.
Very pleased with how this turned out, even though there were a ton of redesigns for this one(more so than the other pages). But the original artwork/poster designs that they used for this had a lot of potential. Plus anything that has a Busty British Bombshell running around in a virtually nonexistent jeweled Scarab top gets an automatic at least as far as marketing/aesthetics go.
I'm a huge Egyptology-buff so I have to say this- "There is nothing even remotely historically accurate with ANYTHING in this image. Not the temple or the jewelry/headdress, jeweled Scarab top, sarcophagus lid or the hieroglyphs(which incidentally enough have my name in there). It's all just a fun "campy" British/Hollywood take on ancient Egyptian curses and well...boobs... if you've seen the movie or at least the trailer ya know what I'm talking about." (And yesthe sarcophagus lid, the Egyptian Princess, and the Blade-wielding Babe are all the same person. just different costumes.)
I did up 2 different versions for this one, and everything is pretty much the same except that on Version A the Egyptian Princess doesn't have the jeweled Scarab top, and in Version B she does. For the black and white image I prefer the less bulky Version A, but for the digitally colored image, Version B has much more of a "Wow" factor with all the additional colors "Vest" added to her top. Still looks fun either way.
Enjoy!
