GINGER SNAPS 001-Color -Version A- with lines by me and Digital Paints by the very talented and super cool :iconvest:

Ginger Snaps, (IMDB info [link]) for all of you that haven't seen it, is a very dark, yet very cool/unique Werewolf horror film. :mwahaha:

I liked this quirky movie a lot when I saw it a little while back, and thought it would be kind of fun to do a comic book/cartoon version of its movie poster/DVD cover.
(:skullbones:Heads up for anyone out there who's lookin' to put this on their Netflix queue- If you're a bit squeamish, it's got some pretty dark humor and a lot of gore/blood, but really redeems itself with it's characters and the fact that it is anything but your run-of-the-mill horror movie.)
I'm really surprised how many people on DA have seen/liked this movie.:w00t:

Vest did an amazing job of setting the mood of the piece through color and light-play to really bring it to another level. Love the effects he added to the mountains, the moon-lit sky, the circles under Brigette's eyes, as well as Ginger's(redhead) lavender blouse fabric. Not to mention the wonderful eyeshadow, eyecolors, and lip rendering on "Were-Ginger's" face in the background.:eyepopping:

And for all of you die-hard movie fans of this series, yes I did take several creative liberties with this comic/cartoony version, especially when it came to "Were-Ginger's" face and hair color. For her face I wanted to use some of the supernatural effects, but kept her still cute looking, so I didn't go for that old-school "Buffy Vampire" wrinkled forehead that they ended up giving her in the film.:X Also I know in the movie 1/2 way through she had blonde/white streaks in the front and then later she went completely blonde/white. But I know that with all of the comic book people on DA I'd have a zillion questions as to why "Rogue" from X-Men was in the background. So I thought it best just to keep her a redhead.=D

I hope you all enjoy this fun comic/cartoon version of the poster from Ginger Snaps!

A details shot of "Were-Ginger's" face, [link] =D and the original lines-[link] :boogie:

Wow, this one picture is better than that entire film series.

Its not a unique series. I dont think you can make any unique werewolf film.

I could even summarize it. "An American Werewolf in London, but with a pair of Canadian girls".
